What’s New with The Thorpes?
We sighted a bald eagle on First St. across from Boedecker Lake recently. The Division of Wildlife had counted 486 elk in our area West of County Road 29, and we had the opportunity to see them file down one of the foothills close to our house. They had to go single file through a narrow draw, and then each of them ran down into the high meadow with such excitement that it was like watching kids waiting in line for an amusement park ride and then squealing as they came down the first hill of a roller coaster! They ended up coming right up to our house, and were very active, so it was a very enjoyable sight for us (but also very distracting from other tasks that needed to get done! )
